Paramount Trading Returns to Profit in FY2025

Paramount Trading (Jamaica) Limited returned to profitability for the financial year ended May 31, 2025, marking an important turnaround following the company’s first annual loss in more than three decades.

Paramount recorded profit after tax of approximately $26.14 million, reversing the $14.36 million loss reported in the previous financial year. Revenue increased to approximately $1.72 billion, compared with $1.62 billion in FY2024.

Operational Changes Support the Turnaround

The improved performance reflected Paramount’s continued focus on greater operational efficiency, personnel changes and the development of new business relationships.

Management strengthened key areas of the organisation while maintaining a strong focus on controlling expenses, improving sales performance and identifying new opportunities across Paramount’s manufacturing and distribution operations.

Gross profit for FY2025 increased to approximately $646.6 million, further supporting the company’s return to positive earnings.

Strategic Partnerships Begin to Deliver

Paramount’s growing manufacturing partnerships also contributed to the company’s improved outlook. The chemical manufacturing agreement established with Manpower & Maintenance Services Limited Group began contributing to manufacturing activity during the financial year.

The partnership forms part of Paramount’s broader strategy to expand local production, contract manufacturing and distribution while strengthening relationships with commercial and institutional customers.

The company continues to pursue additional manufacturing opportunities while investing in the operational capacity required to support sustainable growth.
